Jacob Luczak is from Thunder Bay, Ontario and trains with his hometown wrestling club at Lakehead University. Luczak finished second in points at the 2018 World Team Non-Olympic Weight Trials, earning himself the chance to represent Team Canada in the 92 kg weight class. As a member of the Lakehead University varsity wrestling team, Luczak won a silver medal at the 2018 U SPORTS Championships in the 90 kg weight class.
