Team Impact Announces New Head Coach – Saeed Azarbayjani

Team Impact Wrestling Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Saeed Azerbayjani as Head Coach, effective May this year. Saeed joins Team Impact from London-Western Wrestling Club where he spent the last five years as part of the coaching staff for both the club and university programs.

Stan Tzogas will assume a new role as Director of Coaching. He will be responsible for the oversight of the age group and senior programs, the annual competitive schedule, the long term athlete development program, coaching assessments, coaching guidance, coaching development and the identification of international elite level training opportunities.

At Team Impact, Saeed will be responsible for developing the annual training plan, overseeing practice on a daily basis and elite athlete development. The entire Team Impact coaching staff would like to welcome Saeed aboard. We are genuinely excited regarding the technical skill and experience he brings to the table. The following coaches will be assisting Saeed with his day to day activities: Assistant Head Coach Kimin Kim, U of T Head Coach Mike Quinsey, Courtney Lewis, Calum McNeil, Jay Jordon, Johnny Cho, Todd Idenouye, Mohammad Hashemi, Kerry Ashely, Ken Burgess, Dan Chartres and Kyle Chocorlan.

Saeed is an Iranian Canadian, and has represented Canada on numerous occasions in the past. He won gold at the Pan-American Championships in 2006, competed at a number of World Championships and placed tenth at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
