2025 WCL U SPORTS Invitational Championships kick off with pool competition

Medal round matches set for tomorrow
ST. CATHARINES, ON – Nearly 200 of the country’s best colligate wrestlers descended on Canada Games Park in St. Catharines, Ontario for the 2025 WCL U SPORTS Invitational Championships. The event, being hosted by Brock University in partnership with WCL, is a two-day competition that will award individual medals along with overall team champions for men and women.
The opening day, February 28, featured pool competitions for the 10 weight classes in both the men’s and women’s divisions. Each weight class featured two pools with up to five competitors in each pool for a maximum total of 10 competitors. All competitors in the pool faced each other to determine the final standings. Using the final standings, competitors then cross over to face the equivalent seed in the other pool for gold, bronze, fifth and seventh place. Those matches will take place tomorrow (March 1).
