Beauregard and Slater win gold at Senior Pan Am Championships
BUENOS AIRES – Laurence Beauregard and Dejah Slater led the charge for the Canadian women at the 2019 Senior Pan American Championships in Buenos Aires.
Beauregard, from Montreal, won gold at 59 kg with a technical superiority win over Andribeth Belliard of Puerto Rico. She improved on her performance at the 2018 Pan American Championships where she took home silver.
Slater, who competes for Team Impact in Toronto, also won by technical superiority to claim gold over USA’s Rachel Watters.
Jessica Brouillette and Jayd Davis both captured silver medals.
Brouillette, of the Brock Wrestling Club, pinned Grabriela Da Rocha of Brazil to secure the second-place finish at 65 kg, while Davis defeated Argentina’s Elis Azerrad Parodi by technical superiority to take 55 kg silver.
The strong start for the women’s team will have them eyeing the team title which will be awarded following tomorrow’s finals.
Competing tomorrow are the six remaining Canadian women, and one man:

WW 57 kg – Hannah Taylor
WW 62 kg – Braxton Stone
WW 68 kg – Olivia Di Bacco
