Canada concludes 2025 U20 Worlds
SAMOKOV, BULGARIA – Canadian Wrestlers were in Samokov, Bulgaria from Aug. 17-21 for the 2025 U20 World Championships. Canada sent a team of 18 athletes, competing in Men’s Freestyle and Women’s Wrestling.
The top finish went to Port Moody, British Columbia’s Ella Finding who placed fifth at 59kg. Finding made it to a bronze-medal match before losing to Hiunai Hurbanova of Azerbaijan.
Women’s Results
The rest of the women’s results were: Calgary’s Annika Fines was eighth at 62kg; Beaumont, Alberta’s Lene Marie McCrackin was 10th at 68kg; Maple Ridge, British Columbia’s Madisyn Grof was 12th at 55kg; Abbotsford, British Columbia’s Rupinder Johal was 13th at 76kg; Calgary’s Mackenzie Cayer was 14th at 65kg; Mississauga’s Brooklyn Glasgow was 14th at 53kg; Maple Ridge’s Agnia Krakovska was 15th at 57kg; and North Vancouver’s Kamryn Mason forfeited at 50kg.
Men’s Results
The top finisher on the men’s side was Abbotsford’s Michaeljeet Grewal who was eighth at 92kg. Cochrane, Alberta’s Nick Hooper was 12th at 74kg; Brunswick, Ohio’s Karson Brown was 13th at 61kg; Abbotsford’s Tejvir Dhinsa was 14th at 97kg; Brunswick’s Kade Brown was 16th at 70kg; Winnipeg’s Loki Bigras was 19th at 79kg; Surrey, British Columbia’s Rohit Bal was 21st at 86kg; and Edmonton’s Khalin Radev was 24th at 65kg.
