Official Marty Pollock passes away
Wrestling Canada Lutte was saddened to learn that Marty Pollock passed away on October 19, 2022.
Martin Pollock was a National AE level official for many years, and a former FILA level official. He served on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Amateur Wrestling Officials’ Association for over 25 years in various capacities. In these roles, he served as Head Official (Area Chair) for the Peel-Halton region of Ontario, as well as Head Official on numerous occasions for the OFSAA Wrestling Championships and multiple OAWA Provincial Championships. He represented Ontario at countless National Championships.
Marty also volunteered for many committees and working groups with the Ontario Amateur Wrestling Association, notably the Head of Security for the 1993 World Senior and Veterans Wrestling Championships in Toronto. He was a retired Peel Region Police Officer.
The Ontario Amateur Wrestling Officials’ Association recently established the Martin Pollock Sportsmanship Award for Male and Female wrestlers at the OFSAA Championships in Martin Pollock’s name.
