Thoms and Duguid named Outstanding Greco-Roman Wrestlers
SASKATOON – The 2019 Junior / Senior Canadian Championships concluded with the Greco-Roman Championships in Saskatoon.
The Senior Outstanding Wrestler of the Tournament was awarded to Charles Thoms of Black Bears Wrestling Club and the Junior award was won by Tyler Duguid of Edmonton Bears Wrestling Club.
Jordin Humphrey of Burnaby Mountain Wrestling Club won a challenging 67 kg bracket. Humphrey defeated Daniel Coles and Adam MacFadyen of London-Western Wrestling Club, and Joseph Dashou of the Edmonton Bears Wrestling Club to claim gold.
The Barreiro brothers continued their Greco-Roman dominance. Philip and Thomas won their lone matches at 87 kg and 97 kg to claim another set of national titles.
Edmonton Bears wrestler Shawn Daye-Finley won the 77 kg gold medal.
