Fredericton to host Canada’s top young wrestlers
FREDERICTON – Canada’s best young wrestlers will gather in Fredericton for the 2019 U17 / U19 Canadian Wrestling Championships from April 5 to 7.
The University of New Brunswick’s Aitken University Centre will host the three-day event, which will feature men’s and women’s freestyle and men’s and women’s Greco-Roman wrestling.
The Championships will also serve as the Cadet Team Trials, which will be used to select the 2019 Cadet World Championship and Cadet Pan Am Championship teams.
The Championships are being hosted by Black Bears Wrestling Club, in collaboration with the Lutte New Brunswick Wrestling, as sanctioned by Wrestling Canada Lutte.
The event starts on Friday, April 5 with the U17 and U19 men’s freestyle competition. On Saturday, the U17 and U19 women’s freestyle competition will take place, as will the Men’s Cadet Team Trials. Competition will conclude Sunday, April 7 with the Women’s Cadet Team Trials, and men’s and women’s Greco-Roman.
