(Ottawa, ON) – Three incumbents were re-elected to Wrestling Canada Lutte’s (WCL) Board of Directors at WCL’s Annual General Meeting on September 29, 2024.

WCL welcomes back Directors-at-Large David Bush, Indhyra Helfrich Linares, and Theresa Vladicka for two-year terms. WCL also thanks outgoing Director-at-Large Bill Haliburton for his contribution in WCL’s first year of governance under the new Bylaws.

“We look forward to the continued contributions of our re-elected directors and to entering the new quadrennial with a strong supported group of diverse leaders,” said Chair of the Board of Directors, Brittanee Laverdure.

WCL also brought together its 13 Provincial Territorial Members to Ottawa, as part of annual sessions, including an Inclusive Leadership workshop, led by INclusion INcorporated. “This workshop is an integral part of WCL’s commitment to learning and building a more inclusive community,” noted Laverdure.

The Membership also continued its collaborative work on NSO and PTSO alignment in sport integrity, supported by Sport Law, with the goal of aligning codes of conduct and behaviour to one national standard. “This is an important step towards our continued improvement and commitment to ensuring that our wrestling communities are grounded in standardized sport integrity principles,” said Tamara Medwidsky, CEO. “We look forward to the continued engagement with our PTSOs, as we build out a more robust system”.
