Wrestling Canada Lutte saddened by the passing of Oleg Ladik
It is with great sadness that Wrestling Canada Lutte shares the passing of former national team athlete and Olympian Oleg Ladik, who died on October 21, 2025.
Born in Ukraine and later based at the Montreal Wrestling Club, Oleg proudly wore the maple leaf on the international stage. Among his many achievements, he captured gold at the 1993 Maccabiah Games in Israel, represented Canada at the 1996 Olympic Games—finishing 8th in the Freestyle Heavyweight division—and competed in three World Championships.
Our sincerest condolences go out to Oleg’s family, friends and teammates, and to the wider wrestling community who respected his dedication and achievements in the sport. He will be remembered for his commitment, his competitive spirit and his contribution to Canadian wrestling.
We will share any further details as they become available.
