Coach Excellence Funding Survey
Wrestling Canada Lutte has been a long-term supporter of coaches and training centres, which have provided coaching and support to our National Team programs. Since the 1980s, various funding models and criteria have been utilized to determine the level of funding for these centres. As the environment has changed, the training centre program has evolved, usually corresponding with the strategic priorities that are identified within a given quadrennial planning cycle.
There was a significant shift in the funding priorities within the 2016 and 2020 high performance quadrennial plans, which resulted in a need to re-evaluate the overall Training Centre Funding Model.
Based on a review by both the development and high performance technical staff, three areas have been identified as gaps within WCL’s coaching programs and training centres that need to be prioritized.
These areas are Club Coaching Grants, Coaching Programs, and Coaching Symposium.
Wrestling Canada Lutte is looking to gather the community’s feedback on how we can best direct future funding towards Coach Excellence. We will maintain transparency throughout this process and aim to use the funds in the most effective way possible.
The survey closes at 5:00 p.m. ET on February 20.
