Jade Parsons, an Orillia, Ontario native and member of the Brock Wrestling Club, will be making her first appearance at the Senior Wrestling World Championships this year in Budapest, Hungary competing in the 55 kg weight class. Parsons qualified for the Worlds with decision wins over fellow Canadians Abby Lloyd and Cara Nania to capture first place at the Non-Olympic Weight Trials.
Other notable results for Parsons include winning gold at the 2017 Jeux de la Francophonie and finishing 7th at the 2017 Senior Pan American Championships, competing in the 48 kg weight class at both events.
