In 1992 Wrestling Canada Lutte (formerly the Canadian Amateur Wrestling Association) established the Quest for Gold Fund to recognize the podium achievements of its senior wrestlers at the World Championships and Olympic Games. Since its inception the Quest for Gold Fund has awarded over $142,000 in recognition grants to athletes for forty-three (43) medal performances.

This year, one Canadian wrestler reached the podium at the 2014 Senior World Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Jillian Gallays (Saskatoon Wrestling Club) won a bronze medal at 53 kg and will receive an award of $2,000.
