Town and Taylor to wrestle-off at 57 kg
TORONTO – Alexandria Town and Hannah Taylor will wrestle-off for the 57 kg spot on the Pan American Games and Senior World Championship teams on May 15 in Toronto.
Town, 23, was crowned U23 World Champion in November after claiming gold at the event in Bucharest, Romania, at 57 kg. The York wrestler also finished twelfth at the 2018 Senior World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Taylor, from the Brock Wrestling Club, made her senior national team debut by securing a silver medal at the 2019 Senior Pan American Championships. The 21-year-old from Cornwall, P.E.I., was a 2018 Junior Pan American Champion, and finished fifth at the 2018 Junior World Championships.
One other wrestle-off will take place later in the year. Danielle Lappage and Olivia Di Bacco will wrestle for the World Championship team spot at 68 kg.

The Pan American Games will take place in Lima, Peru, from August 7 to 10, and the Senior World Championships are from September 14 to 22 in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.
