OTTAWA – Due to safety concerns surrounding the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Wrestling Canada Lutte has cancelled the Junior / Senior and U17 / U 19 Canadian Championships, as well as the 2020 Canada Cup.

Each event will be held in 2021 in the same host city that was slated to run the events in 2020.

The Junior / Senior Championships will take place in London, Ont. in March, the U17 / U19 Championships & Cadet Trials will be in Edmonton in March or April, and Canada Cup will return to Calgary in June.

Each event will be run in the same format as was scheduled for 2020.

Dates for the three events will be announced in the coming months.

In March, WCL announced the postponement of the two Canadian Championships.

Canada Cup was the last international level wrestling event scheduled to take place in Canada in 2020.

WCL is waiting for the remainder of the international calendar to be released before determining what events will remain and / or be added to the domestic calendar in 2020. More information will be available in the coming weeks.
