OTTAWA – Wrestling Canada Lutte (WCL) is proud to announce the athletes and support staff who will represent Canada at the 2026 U20 World Championships, August 16-23, in Bratislava, Slovakia. The squad features nine athletes competing in women’s wrestling, men’s freestyle and men’s Greco-Roman wrestling.

“We’re excited to see this group of athletes represent Canada at the U20 World Championships in Bratislava,” said WCL High Performance Director Chris Woodcroft. “This is a talented group that represents the next generation of Canadian wrestlers, and many of these athletes already have valuable international experience, including international podium finishes. Competing at the U20 World Championships gives them an important opportunity to test themselves against the best wrestlers in the world in their age group, gain experience on a major international stage and continue building toward their future at the senior level.”

Among the team members with international medals, one of the most notable is Kaura Coles of Ailsa Craig, Ontario, who wrestles out of London-Western WC. Coles is a past U17 World Champion, becoming the first Canadian to accomplish the feat in 2024. She is also a past U17 Pan-American Championships gold and silver medalist, winning gold in 2024 and silver in 2022. Earlier this year, Coles won national titles at both the senior and U20 levels. She will be aiming to add more hardware to her already impressive trophy case when she hits the mats at 53kg in Bratislava.

On the men’s side, a name to watch will be Abbotsford, British Columbia’s Tejvir Dhinsa. Dhinsa, from Burnaby Mountain WC, captured his third consecutive silver medal earlier this year at the U20 Pan-American Championships. He has also represented Canada at the U20 World Championships in each of the past two years. Dhinsa recently changed weight classes and will compete at 86kg.

2026 U20 World Team

Accompanying the team are the coaching staff and team officials. The group includes U20 lead coach Shane Bradley; WCL coach Nishan Randhawa; personal coaches Logan Stieber, Dave Spinney, Madi Parks and Frank Mensah; and physiotherapist Jean Paul Raphael. Ryan Forsberg will represent Canada as an official.
