Wrestlers to return to the mats in Ukraine and Italy
KIEV, Ukraine – Canadian wrestlers are back on the mats in Ukraine and Italy in the coming weeks. Canadians will first compete at the Outstanding Ukrainian Wrestlers and Coaches Memorial tournament in Kiev, Ukraine, followed by the Matteo Pellicone in Rome.
The Outstanding Ukrainian Wrestlers and Coaches Memorial tournament will take place February 26 to 28, and the Matteo Pellicone is March 4 to 7.
Qualified Tokyo Olympians Erica Wiebe and Amar Dhesi will use the tournaments to continue their preparation for the postponed games. Wrestling in Tokyo begins August 1.
Samantha Stewart, Michelle Fazzari and Dillon Williams will be attending the events with Olympic berths still in sight. Both will be competing at the World Olympic Qualification Tournament May 6 to 9 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
