Wrestling Canada Lutte Announces Julie Beaulieu as High Performance Manager

(Ottawa, ON) Wrestling Canada Lutte (WCL) is pleased to announce the appointment of Julie Beaulieu as High Performance Manager. As the former National Team Manager and National Programs Manager with Canoe Kayak Canada, Julie brings pertinent experience supporting high performance and domestic programs as well as critical insight and understanding of the key stakeholders and organizations in the Canadian high performance sport system.

A graduate of Biomedical Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ottawa, Julie impressed the hiring committee with her comprehensive skillset and motivation to contribute positively to WCL’s high performance program.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such a dynamic and successful sport. I look forward to meeting and learning from the wrestling community while also sharing my experience”, said Beaulieu.

As High Performance Manager, Julie will be responsible for supporting the High Performance Director with executing WCL’s high performance plan, including managing and operating WCL’s high performance and NextGen programs (senior, U23, junior, and cadet national teams). This includes athlete services such as anti-doping and the Athlete Assistance Program; management of WCL’s international teams and IST delivery; management of WCL’s podium pathway, and high performance program administration, accountability and planning support.

High Performance Director, Leigh Vierling spoke of WCL’s opportunity in adding Julie to an already solid high performance team. “Julie comes to WCL with a lot of passion and energy for high performance sport,” said Vierling. “We are eager to resume HP operations in almost full capacity and look forward to building on our strategic and performance goals in the upcoming quadrennial with Julie as the newest addition of our highly dedicated HP team”.

Julie will attend the upcoming Junior / Senior Canadian Championships in an observer capacity and will begin her duties formally at the National Office in Ottawa on April 3.
