MORELIA, Mexico – Wrestling Canada Lutte is sending a team of eighteen 16 and 17-year-olds to take on the Americas at the 2019 Cadet Pan American Championships.

The women’s team will feature three women with Pan American Championship experience. Serena Di Benedetto of the Jr. Marauders Wrestling Club and Vianne Rouleau of Edmonton Wrestling Club captured bronze medals at last year’s event in Guatemala City.

Nyla Burgess, of Team impact finished fifth at the championships in 2018, and took home bronze from the event in 2017.

Dechlan Papadopoulos leads the men’s team in experience. He captured bronze at the Cadet Pan American Championships in 2017, and finished fifth in 2018.

The team was selected at the U17 / U19 Championships which took place Fredericton in April. Peter McCrackin, who will be competing at 60 kg was named Outstanding U17 wrestler at the tournament.
