Danielle Lappage will return to the Olympic stage for the 2nd time in 2021 in Tokyo and will look to add an Olympic Medal to her outstanding international resume so far. Danielle was a member of Canada’s #sixpack at the 2016 Olympics in Rio and is the 2014 Commonwealth Games gold-medalist at 63 kg where she defeated Geetika Jakhar of India to win gold. An Olds Alberta native, Danielle Lappage began wrestling at 13 and sparked an Olympic dream while watching the Games on TV as a young girl. Raised in a family with four siblings by parents Robert and Valerie, Lappage was always considered driven and had a great work ethic. Earning a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology at Simon Fraser University in 2013, Lappage went on to complete her Masters of Arts degree in Criminology. With magnets collected from around the world, Lappage’s favourite motto is “You are capable of anything and everything, you just have to believe”.
