BUCHAREST, Romania – Dejah Slater won gold at the Constantin Alexandru & Ioan W. Popovici and Dumitru Pirvulescu & Vasile Iorga tournament in Bucharest, Romania.

Slater, of Team Impact, defeated Tindra Sjoberg of Sweden in the 68 kg final.

Sarah Brinkac also brought home a medal from the tournament. The Burnaby Mountain wrestler captured bronze at 59 kg.

Canada’s top male finisher was Aly Barghout of Montreal YMHA, who finished fifth in the 125 kg weight class.

The tournament ran May 31 to June 3 in the Romanian capital of Bucharest.
