OTTAWA— Today, November 29^th, is GivingTuesday! An annual international movement that is dedicated to giving. Many organizations that support numerous causes are hoping Canadians heed the call and donate to a cause that matters to them. Wrestling Canada Lutte (WCL) is no different as each year the costs of developing programs, wrestlers and competing around the world increases.

As the national sport official governing body for Olympic-style wrestling in Canada, WCL is responsible for selecting and preparing Canada’s teams that participate in international competitions including Continental Championships, World Championships and major multi-sport Games (i.e. Olympic Games).

WCL’s mission is to provide leadership, support and safety nationally to our athletes and other participants in pursuit of international podium success with a vision of achieving sustainable international excellence through the growth of wrestling in Canada. Key areas of focus include: culture, governance & management, podium performance, return to sport through development, and sport promotion.

To accomplish these responsibilities and goals, significant resources are required. That is why on this GivingTuesday, WCL is asking the wrestling community to support these and other initiatives.

WCL, as a federally incorporated not-for-profit corporation and Registered Canadian Amateur Athletic Association (RCAAA), is able to issue charitable tax receipts for income tax purposes upon receipt of donations from individuals and corporations. Tax receipts are available for donations in excess of $50.00. Please refer to WCL’s Donations & Tax Receipt Policy for more details.

Donors may request that 100% of their donation be used for WCL Programs such as:

• Cadet National Team
• Junior National Team
• U23 National Team
• Senior National Team
• Olympic Team
• Quest for Gold
• Other
