OTTAWA – Wrestling Canada Lutte (WCL) is pleased to announce the hiring of Darren Matte as Marketing & Communications Manager.

Matte will be responsible for leading all marketing and communications activities within the organization and lead the push to promote the sport across the country.

Matte will be joining WCL from his previous role as the Editor of Wealth Professional Canada. Prior to that, he was the Communications and Marketing Coordinator at Golf Association of Ontario.

“I could not be more excited to join the team at WCL,” said Matte. “I have held a passion for sport my entire life having been an athlete, coach, official, media member and communication/marketing professional. Having worked in amateur sport previously, I know there is no greater feeling than helping to promote and grow a sport at the grassroots level, which I can’t wait to do with WCL.”

Matte completed a communications degree from the University of Ottawa and has a postgraduate certificate in Broadcast Sports Journalism from Loyalist College.

“We are thrilled to have Darren joining us,” said Tamara Medwidsky, WCL’s Executive Director. “We believe Darren’s experience and skillset matches the position perfectly. He will be a very welcome addition to WCL.”

Matte is set to begin with WCL on August 1.
