WCL was saddened to learn of the passing of former official Beverly “Bev” Holmes on August 25, 2023. Bev was one of the first members when the Ontario Amateur Wrestling Official Association (OAWOA) was formed and had been a member for over 50 years when he retired in 2021. Bev was an award-winning official in the province of Ontario who was instrumental in the development of younger officials.  Bev was famous for his homemade wines and stories from all of his extensive volunteer work with numerous organizations. A memorial will be held in October, more details will follow once the family has shared them. WCL sends its condolences to Bev’s family and friends.
