OTTAWA – Wrestling Canada Lutte (WCL) is seeking bids from Host Organizing Committees (HOCs) to host the 2027 Canadian Team Trials, the domestic selection event for athletes seeking to represent Canada at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, USA.

The 2027 Canadian Team Trials will take place December 3-4, 2027, with the host community to be selected through a competitive, best-bid process. The event will feature Canada’s top Men’s Freestyle and Women’s Wrestling athletes as they compete for the opportunity to represent Canada on the Olympic stage.

The Canadian Team Trials are among the most significant events on the domestic wrestling calendar. The event provides a unique opportunity for a host community to showcase its facilities and hospitality while welcoming Canada’s top wrestlers and members of the national wrestling community.

WCL is seeking a host that can deliver a high-quality event experience, with bids evaluated on areas including competition and training facilities, accommodations, event-hosting experience, local and provincial support, transportation, marketing and communications, sustainability and other event enhancements. Letters of interest are due September 25, 2026, with completed bid applications due by end of day October 23, 2026. The successful host is expected to be announced in December 2026.
