As part of the sanctions, Tagziev is ineligible to participate in any capacity with any sport signatory to the CADP, including training with teammates, until August 9, 2020.
Wrestling Canada Lutte President Don Ryan, on behalf of the entire association, supported the sanction and reiterated Wrestling Canada Lutte’s strong stance on clean sport and clean performances.
“In our view, there are no shortcuts to victory, cheating, will not be tolerated, and we take very seriously any infraction to the Canadian Anti-Doping Program,” said Ryan. “We support the CCES in its activities. We will continue to be diligent in educating our athletes competing for Canada as our athletes are well aware that knowing the rules is ultimately their responsibility.”
