2022 Canadian Wrestling Trials conclude with Greco-Roman

The 2022 Canadian Wrestling Trials wrapped up on May 29, with the final competition of the event: junior and senior men’s Greco-Roman.  Many wrestlers and spectators remained at the University of Alberta’s Butterdome, in Edmonton, as the final medalists were crowned.

The Provincial Team Awards were won by Ontario, in the senior division, with 23 points and British Columbia in the junior with 34 points.

As for the Club Team Awards, London-Western Wrestling Club walked away with the title for the seniors with 23 points, while Rustom Wrestling Club in Surrey, British Columbia claimed the award for juniors with 18 points.

After winning the senior 130kg weight class, Anthony Parker, from London-Western Wrestling Club was named Most Outstanding Wrestler. In the junior division, it was Eekeeluak Avalak, from Wrestling Nunavut who was named Most Outstanding Wrestler after taking gold in the 55kg weight class.
