Brouillette and Coles named Outstanding Wrestlers at Canada Cup
CALGARY – Jessica Brouillette of Brock Wrestling Club and Daniel Coles of Western Wrestling Club were awarded Outstanding Wrestlers at Canada Cup at the Jack Simpson Gym in Calgary.
Brouillette, of Barrie, Ont., won the 62 kg weight-class with a 10-0 win over Minju Kim from the Republic of Korea. Brouillette was coming off a victory at the Non-Olympic Weight Trials on Saturday.
Coles, 19, took gold at 65 kg after defeating Jinwoo Kim of Korea. Coles won the final match by decision 13-2.
The final match of the night saw Olympic champion Erica Wiebe take on 2018 World Champion Justina Di Stasio.
Di Stasio led 5-3 at the halfway mark, but Wiebe took control in the second half to win 7-5.
