Cadet men team selected and Vanessa Keefe and Aleah Nickel named Outstanding Wrestlers at U17 / U19 Championships
FREDERICTON – Vanessa Keefe and Aleah Nickel were named the U17 and U19 Outstanding Wrestlers of the Tournament on the second day of the U17 / U19 Canadian Championships in Fredericton.
Keefe, of Oyster Bed Bridge, P.E.I. won gold in the 73 kg U17 weight-class. She won all three of her matches by technical superiority and did not have a singlet point scored against her.
Nickle, who wrestles with the Swift Current Titans, won the 61 kg gold medal match with a 12-0 technical superiority.

The men’s Cadet Team Trials also took place on Saturday, which saw ten men selected to represent Canada at the Cadet Pan American Games in Morelia, Mexico.
