BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA – Canadian wrestlers are returning home from the 2023 Senior Pan-American (Pan-Am) Championships in Buenos Aires, Argentina, May 3-6, with a solid medal haul. The team captured 13 total medals including: two gold, five silver, and six bronze.
Canadian men won seven medals (six Freestyle, one Greco-Roman), and the women captured six. That resulted in the Men’s Freestyle and Women’s teams earning second overall in the team competitions.
The women were led by a pair of gold medalists, Thorold, Ontario’s Diana Weicker and Surrey, B.C.’s Ana Godinez Gonzalez. For Weicker, from Brock WC, she was in a round robin at 55kg.
