REMINDERS FROM JANUARY HP UPDATES
UWW LICENCES
ATHLETES
A UWW licence is required for an athlete to participate in a UWW sanctioned event (e.g. Canada Cup, Pan American Championships, Ranking Series Events, International Tours, etc.).
To apply for a licence, the following is required:
- completed UWW medical form: https://unitedworldwrestling.org/sites/default/files/2018-12/181129_uww_-_declaration_du_lutteur_carte_licence_uww_final_2019.doc_3.pdf
- current valid passport scan
- Senior/Junior: $140 CDN fee; Cadet $75 (interac e-transfer, Credit Card payment, cheque)
We can NO longer purchase licences on site, and NO longer expedite the licences. The process can take up to 2-4 weeks. Please attend to this as soon as possible. Licence Fees will be at the athlete’s expense. WCL will issue an invoice upon completion of the process.
COACHES
Effective January 1, 2019, United World Wrestling (UWW), our international federation, will be implementing mandatory UWW Coach Licences for all coaches attending United World Wrestling sanctioned competitions. These are NOT required for WCL domestic NON UWW events. These licences are similar to those your athletes have been required to purchase and MUST be purchased through the WCL head office 2-4 weeks ahead of the event.
Please note that these licences do not supersede any WCL coaching requirements for international coaching assignment. Coaches are required to have a minimum Competition Development Certified coaching accreditation to be considered for an international tournament and for their UWW coaching licence.
Please see attached documentation as well as the links below for more information.

The reduction is due to the fact that this is not an Olympic qualification event for wrestling and not a home Games.
