As part of our commitment to Safe Sport, WCL has enlisted the professional services of ITP Sport as our independent third party service provider. ITP Sport has partnered with Whistleblower Security Inc. to provide clients with a secure and independent reporting intake and case management system.

Case Outcomes
- (November 26, 2024) – IN THE MATTER OF AN SDRCC COMPLAINT, Frank Fowlie AGAINST WCL (Respondent), David Spinney, Ahmed Shamiya, Mara Schiavulli (Affected Parties), the Panel determined that the Affected Parties committed violations of WCL’s 2021 Code of Conduct, by sending emails to the (then) WCL Complaints and Appeal Officer that constituted harassment, by Decision of Panel Richard W. Pound dated November 22, 2024, and have been suspended from all position with or designated by WCL, from receiving any financial support from WCL, from participating in any activities within, organized or sponsored by WCL, including any role relating to Canadian teams participating in any events, effective November 22, 2024 until 30 days following the conclusion of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. David Spinney, Ahmed Shamiya and Mara Schiavulli have advised that they are applying to the Ontario Superior Court of Justice to have this decision set aside. On December 12, 2024, the court ordered a stay of this decision, meaning that the sanction imposed is on hold and not in effect until the court process challenging the decision is heard and determined.
- (September 26, 2023) – IN THE MATTER OF A WCL DISCIPLINARY COMPLAINT, Lúcás Ó’Ceallacháin and Ed Zinger AGAINST David Spinney, the Panel determined that the Respondent has committed violations of the 2017 and 2021 WCL Codes of Conduct, by Decision of Panel Daniel Ratushny dated July 31, 2022, and confirmed by SDRCC Panel Peter Lawless dated September 6, 2023. - (June 20, 2023) – IN THE MATTER OF A BCWA DISCIPLINARY COMPLAINT, Madison Payette AGAINST Aso Palani, the Panel determined that the Respondent was found to have breached BCWA’s Code of Conduct, by Decision of the Panel Adjudicators Jeffrey Raphael (Chair), Ann Peel, Kate Scallion dated May 3, 2023. - (August 14, 2021) – IN THE MATTER OF A WCL DISCIPLINARY COMPLAINT AGAINST Marty Calder, the Panel has determined that although the Respondent was found to have breached Section 27 of the Discipline Policy, in the circumstances of the case, it is appropriate that no sanction be imposed on the Respondent, by Decision of Panel Adjudicators Hon.
