Wrestling Canada Lutte announces partnership with Nike Team

March 18, 2019

OTTAWA – Wrestling Canada Lutte (WCL) is pleased to announce a partnership with Nike Team to be the official supplier of all apparel and national team uniforms for the organization.  The partnership will be executed by national distributor, T. Litzen Sports.

The two-year deal will see the partnership through to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

“There’s nothing like walking out to compete against the best in the world wearing the world’s best sporting brand,” said 2016 Olympic Champion Erica Wiebe. “I love the Nike wrestling boots. I love what the brand stands for!”

In addition to outfitting the national team, Nike will be onsite at national events selling WCL apparel and will launch an online store to make clothing available year-round. The first opportunity to purchase official Nike apparel will be at the 2019 Junior / Senior Championships in Saskatoon from March 22 to 24, 2019.

“The opportunity to partner with Wrestling Canada Lutte is a thrill for our company,” expressed National Sales Manager Ryan Denholm.  “To outfit such high-level athletes, both in competition and off the mat, is a humbling opportunity.  To be part of these wrestlers’ journey on their quest for greatness while representing our country will always be one of the most satisfying aspects of making athletes part of the Nike Team Family.”

“We’re very pleased to be able to work with Nike Team to provide our athletes with the best singlets and team gear available,” said Chris Reith, WCL’s Marketing & Communications Manager. “Our athletes are world-class and deserve to be outfitted with world-class uniforms.”
