Edmonton gearing up for U17 / U19 Canadian Championships

EDMONTON – Canada’s best young wrestlers will be converging on Edmonton for the 2018 U17 / U19 Canadian Wrestling Championships April 13-15.

The University of Alberta Butterdome will host the three-day event, which will feature men’s and women’s freestyle and men’s and women’s Greco-Roman wrestling.

The Championships will also serve as the Cadet Team Trials, which will be used to select the 2018 Cadet World Championship and Cadet Pan Am Championship teams.

The Championships are being hosted by the Golden Bears Wrestling Club, in collaboration with the Alberta Amateur Wrestling Association, as sanctioned by Wrestling Canada Lutte.

The event starts on Friday, April 13 with the U17 and U19 men’s freestyle competition. On Saturday, the U17 and U19 women’s freestyle competition will take place, as will the Men’s Cadet Team Trials. Competition will conclude Sunday, April 15 with the Women’s Cadet Team Trials, and men’s and women’s Greco-Roman.
