National champions crowned at 2026 Canadian U23 Wrestling Championships

THOROLD, ON — The best Canadian U23 wrestlers were in action on June 26th as the 2026 Canadian U23 Wrestling Championships came to Canada Games Park in Thorold, Ontario. The U23 athletes competed to be crowned national champion and earn a spot on the national team for the 2026 U23 World Championships.

U23 Women

British Columbia led the way on the women’s side with the most gold medals with five. They were won by: Madison MacKenzie, BMWC at 50kg; Madisyn Grof, Coast RTC at 55kg; Ella Finding, Coast RTC at 59kg; Lene-Marie McCrackin, BMWC at 68kg; and Paige Maher, BMWC at 76kg.

The team award on the women’s side went to Brock WC who finished with 26 points. They featured one gold medalist, Cassie Corbett at 72kg.

The Most Outstanding Wrestler was awarded to Madison MacKenzie for her strong performance at 50kg.

U23 Men

On the men’s side it was Ontario who led the way with four gold medalists. The medalists were: Treye Trotman, London-Western WC at 57kg; Blayne Helou, London-Western WC at 61kg; Connor Church, London-Western WC at 79kg; and Zaur Arsagov, Brock WC at 97kg.

With those three gold medalists leading the way, London-Western WC earn the Team Club Award, finishing with 32 points.

The Men’s Most Outstanding Wrestler went to Karson Brown, from Coast RTC. Karson had a stellar performance on the way to his gold medal at 65kg.
